Valentine's Day Heart Washcloth
MATERIALS REQUIRED* 2 Skeins of Cotton thread in colors of choice
* Crochet Hook G/4mm
ABBREVIATIONS
- SC – Single Crochet
- CH – Chain
- SL ST – Slip Stitch
- ST – stitch
- SK - Skip
NOTES
Finished dimensions are approximately 7” x 7” at its widest points.
Instructions
Chain 7
Row 1: SC in 2nd chain from the hook across. Chain 1 at end. 5 ST.
Row 2: 2 SC in first ST, SC across to end, 2 SC in last ST. C 1 and turn. 7 ST.
Row 3 – 10: Repeat row 2. 21 ST.
Row 11-16: SC across C 1 at end of each row and turn. 21 ST.
Row 17: SK first St, SC across. SC last two stitches together. (First decreasing row) 19 ST.
ROW 18: Repeat Row 17. 17 ST.
Row 19: Chain 1, SK first stitch. SC 8 across. Chain 1. Turn (this creates the start of one heart lobe).
Row 20: SK first stitch. SC 7 across. Chain 1. Turn.
Row 21: SK first stitch. SC 6 across. Chain 1. Turn
Row 22: SK first stitch. SC 5 across. Chain 1. Turn
Row 23: SK first stitch. SC 4 across. Bind off.
CREATE 2nd Heart Lobe:
Row 19: SL ST in 10th ST across on row 19. SC across. SC last two ST together. CH 1. Turn.
Repeat Rows 20-23. Do not bind off.
CREATE FRING AROUND HEART.
SC evenly around heart. SL ST at end.
CH 4. SC in 3rd ST from SL ST. CH 4. SK 3 ST. SC. Repeat this around heart creating lace. SL ST at last ST around.
NEXT ROW: SL ST twice into CH 4. CH 4, SC into top of next CH4. Repeat this around heart. SL ST at end and bind off.
